Wind-driven whirlybirds. The turbine turns in the breeze to draw hot, stale air out of the roof cavity and replace it with fresh outside air — no power, no wiring, no running cost and maintenance free operation. Two ranges are available. The Spinaway is light, durable aluminium construction on a sealed dual bearing housing, with a reinforced nylon chassis for silent running, and is backed by a 10-year Ampelite warranty.
The Superflow adds a unique SuperFlow fan and carries a 15-year Ampelite warranty. Both suit tiled and metal roofs and come in mill finish plus a wide range of colours, so the vent matches the roof rather than standing out on it. Ampelair fireproof vent mesh is available for bushfire prone areas.
Solar powered ventilation. An integrated solar panel drives a brushless DC motor with polycarbonate fan blades, so extraction doesn't rely on the wind, and the whole range runs at zero operating cost for the life of the product. The range spans compact units suited to small sheds, cabins and granny flats right through to residential, commercial and large commercial models, so the output can be matched to the roof space rather than the other way around. Every unit comes standard with a thermostatic shut-off below 24°C, preserving beneficial roof space heat through the winter months. Whisper quiet in operation, and SolarArk has been Australian owned and operated since 2009.
